So last night I was out on a dirt road outside of town (of course) and the car wouldn't start. No cranking or anything. Turn the key and there was nothing but silence.
Jumped it 4 times but each time when I'd step on the brake to shift into drive the car would die again. The headlights were off so I'm thinking just that small of amount of electricity for the brake light was enough to kill it.
I don't understand this though, once the car is going why does the electrical use make the car stall??
It's at the shop now with a new battery, the mechanic said it had a blown cell. He said the alternator is fine and the volt test read 14.4. Can someone please explain why this happens?
