Battery Size - Anyone running a Group 31?

the diehard 31m everyone has they dont make anymore. you have to get the odyssey battery if you want the same one

Shining some new light on this topic as I didn’t find 100% clear information online about the current offering on group 31 batteries and 4th gen fitment.
I was specifically looking at the batteries plus X2 brand of batteries for a few specific reason.
1. They provide a 4 year warranty on their agm X2 batteries
2. They have brick and mortar where they usually stock the X2 batteries.
I found it difficult to find a NorthStar or Odyssey battery in stock anywhere.
I first tried to fit the X2 group 31 battery but they didn’t offer the polarity in the proper setup and when I tried the marine grade on with the threaded terminals and standard automotive terminals, the clearance under the hood caused issues. The terminals are more in the middle of the battery and on raised platforms which interferes with the hood when trying to close. I did consider taking off the threaded terminals to remove some of the height but the batteries plus representative stated that would void the warranty.
After much consideration I looked into a group 27F. You do lose some capacity (100 Ah vs 92 Ah) but the weight, size, polarity options (F model), and cost outweighed the capacity reduction. I saved about $100, 9 lbs, and the group 27 fit perfectly into the oem battery location (although I did already purchase a rago group 31 tray prior to understanding all this).
Extremely happy with the setup and wanted to share my setup given there isn’t too much to offer online about the current battery options, specifically the X2 brand.
