Time for a new battery. I looked at the popular Diehard Platinum series but the cost is about $225.

What do you all think is a good option that is less than the Platinum but a better battery than the usual $85 cheapies?

Look up exide battery I made the purchase this past June cheaper than most part store and the warrantie is a lot better than advance and auzone heck they even give u free road side assistance for a year. The spec were above and beyond and I am sold on there products. I picked mine up at Home depot and Tractor supply carries them as well...

Interstate megaton ftw....from what I understand exact same as Costco.

I HAVE ONE IN MY RIG WHO LIVES OUTSIDE AND I DO NOT PLUG IT IN DURING -52C WINTER WEATHER...

Starts every time like a snow hulk. Can't go wrong buddy.

I put in one of these a couple of weeks ago

Sears.com

Diehard Platinum 34M marine battery, currently on sale for $183. I bought it online and picked it up and the store. I had to lengthen the positive lead about 4" and reworked the hold-down bracket since the 34M is a little narrower than the original battery. I like having the extra screw-down terminals so I can hook up the winch wire when I need it, and not have an unfused cable to the winch hot all the time.

For a daily driver a Motorcraft BXt battery is a solid buy. 3 years free replacement. 8 years pro-rated. They run about 110 bucks. I have one in my Runner and have been happy with it.

We do not have a Costco but we do have Interstate stores here. I thought I read the Costco was a Kirkland tho? Maybe Interstate and Kirkland are the same mfg. I will look at the Interstates.

98OzarksRunner- Your install is very nice and thanks for the link. I didn't look online but the ones in the local Sears auto were much higher. I will check that out as well.

Thanks to all for the replies.

The sale is an internet only sale. Order online, pick up in the store. It looks like it's only on the marine batteries though - 20% off.

I'm pleased with my Toyota OEM 84 month battery. Only $90. Or an Interstate Battery. I was told by the dealer the Toyota batteries that are sold at dealers in the US are made by Interstate Battery. The original battery from Japan is Panasonic.

The majority of the lead acid batteries sold in the US are made by Johnson Controls and Exide.

Johnson makes Interstate, DieHard (except the platinums), Duralast, Kirkland, etc and so on.......

Unless you want an AGM type shop by price, CCAs, and warranty.

I run a Costco that was $80 cheaper than the same Johnson Controls battery branded as a DieHard. CCA and warranty were the same.
