Bay Area Run???

Hey guys glad to see there is some bay area talk!! I have been looking on Yotatech and here for norcal sections and they are so dead. Anyways I am picking up a 2001 SR5 this weekend! First 4x4 since ive always had sports cars. Anyways I would love to come on a trip maybe not this first one since I need to do a little normal work on it but where are the good areas/boards to post for trips? I can't wait to take this thing out!!!

Man I've been away from this forum for too long. I need to show the rig some needed love. My ride hasnt changed but I do need to change my brakes (at least the fronts). I'm down to ride if you guys don't go before my brake swap.

Does anyone live in the South Bay know how to do brakes on a 4th Gen? I'd gladly pay you beer and lunch money if you help me out. Anybody? :help:

It's real easy Alpha. Once you pull the front wheels off, there are two pins that hold the in pads in place to the caliper. On the end of the pins of the, there are clips that keeps from falling out. Remove the clips, pull the pins out (may need a dull nail to drive them out on the opposite side if rusty) and the pads will slide out. Prior to removing the pads, take a clamp to the tabs (that pins go through) against the caliper to push the pistons back. Once there is enough clearance swap out the pads.

I'll work on cleaning out my PMs, if you need to help.

I've done countless brake jobs on Hondas, but this will be my first attempt at the 4runner. Is it similar, pushing back the pistons for pad clearance, bleeding brake lines, adding more brake fluid, resurfacing flywheel, etc? Will a resurace be warranted if I haven't been experiencing any vibrations from the brake pedal?

I did the front brakes yesterday and it took me less than 30 mins bro. Thank you so much for helping me out man. I didn't expect it to be so easy. Much appreciated! What's good for a nice set of AT tires now days? My set of Nitto Terragraplers are due for retirement.
