BCZECH's 2014 Limited Build/Adventure Thread

Figured Id start one. I wasn't going to do too much, but once I started buying stuff, I haven't been able to stop. My build will move a bit slower than others, but I'll at least use this to keep my mods organized.
Bought my 2014 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4 in early October 2017. Was dead seat on an AWD SUV, so I went with the Limited. I was tempted by the Trail, but stuck with my gut, and went with the Limited.
I do a lot of highway driving for work, but do plan to take some trips out in the mountains for some camping/trailing. I've been riding motorcycles for around 3 years, and take trips all over the country. I don't trailer, but with the 4runner, I may have to trailer it out to Big Bend so I can enjoy both cement and dirt.

Very nice. The Ltd looks way better without the running board especially when it’s lifted.

How is the ride quality with a spacer kit? Have you noticed any changes in terms of fuel economy?

Mine is a 2017 and I spend 95% of the time on highway everyday ,I was thinking about going with a suspension lift kit but I then realized my Xreas is still working well and it gives me smooth ride which I really enjoy.
I want a lift but I believe It’s just the appearance that I’m after. What do you think?

Thanks. Yeah, I had to get rid of those grandma running boards. It'll look better when I get my Shrockworks TE Rocket trim in.
I just got the truck back Thursday, so I don't have any comments in regards to fuel economy yet. I have a long trip this weekend so I'll konw more. As far as the ride quality, it's a bit stiffer. Feel the road a bit more. I like it, feels more like a truck. Being a few inches higher also just feels right. The DayStar was a good install.

As far as XREAS is concerned, I like it, although, I don't think I would miss it. I did the spacer kit as a temporary until XREAS goes out. Once it's done, I'm ripping it out and doing a full lift. When I do, I'll be looking to piece together a kit that will be "highway friendly".

Update
Did about fa750 miles from West Texas through the hill country and back and got around 17.5 mpg. Much better than expected, and not really a change. I thought for sure I'd be under 17.
As far as the ride, it felt a little stiffer, but in a good way. Feels more like a truck. It's a positive change for me.



I've installed my CB Radio/Antenna. Right now, I have a Uniden 920XL and Wilson 305 Lil Wil Antenna. It's mounted on my hood. Not sure I like that set up. Will post some pictures/.
I bought a mirror mount a Firestik 2 4' antenna from a Loves Truck Stop this weekend. I should be able to mount in on my roof rack. Not sure the ground will work, but I'll see.

My OEM Plus JBL Enhancement kit is on it's way! Should get it on Thursday. Will install most likely this coming weekend.
My Shrockworks TE Rocker Trim should be here tomorrow evening. Will post some pics when I get them installed.
