beating a dead horse: AUX input on 4th Gen JBL E7005 w/ Navigation

After quite a bit of searching, I'm still not 100% sure I can do what I want to do. I have a 2005 4Runner Limited with the JBL E7005 Navigation head unit. I want to add an Auxiliary input, like the PIE TOY03-AUX2 -- I don't want or need the iPod interface -- just the 3.5mm headphone jack.

I found conflicting reports about compatibility. Crutchfield.com says that particular adapter will not work with the navigation units. I don't want to tear the dash up once just to check and a second time for the install, and I don't want to order something that won't work.

Has anyone with this specific setup installed an auxiliary input? I have seen the castulucci step-by-step but I noticed that was a Denso head unit.

I have that setup on my 05 Limited with the same NAV unit and it works great. I actually have both the Ipod adapter and the AUX input working fine. I use the AUX for my EVO to listen to Pandora all the time. All I had to buy was the AUX cord and plug it in and route the wire where I wanted it. Super easy!!!! The hardest part was taking apart the dash....but that only takes about 10 min once you know what your doing. I have the USA SPEC15 for Toyota by the way......

Sorry to bring this one back from the grave, but figured it would be easier for anyone else 'Googling' this answer to just look to this thread.

Where the heck do I plug the PA15 in on the back of the e7005? Took it all apart and can't figure out where it goes. Looked for pics but no one has posted the back of the e7005 anywhere, so I have attached one.

Also a note: no stock 'SAT' satellite button, no 'AUX' button and no CD changer attached to unit. CD button simply reads 'DISC'.

There is only one way to hook it up. Without taking my dash apart I believe you take the largest plug out and plug in the adapter into its spot. Then just plug the cord you took out into the only spot it will fit on the adapter. As far a getting it to work you just have to hit the disc button and it will recognize the adapter. To manually change songs on an Ipod you have to change the disc # to "Disc 8" . You can still use the steering wheel controls but the song and artist will not appear on the Nav screen.

Got everything plugged in (I THINK the right way) but can't seem to find the right setting. Can you let me know what DIP switches are set to on or off? Don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

I'm not sure what I have mine set at. I have to get the manual and see what is says. If I cant find it I will pull the dash apart and check for you. Good thing it only take 5 min to take apart. HA!

Yeah tearing it apart was quick! I tried doing what the manual said but didn't work. Even tried the B and C method they suggested.

Ryan- also just noticed I'm not getting a charge to my iPod or iPhone. I'm guessing you have power?

So to summarize, I am getting no power, and can't figure out how to get this playing in any fashion on my JBL e7005, whether it's through the iPod or Aux hookup.

I have a e7005 navi unit and the largest harness installed into the head unit does not fit into any of the USA spec adapters. I have done a few head unit installs so I'm not completely dumb on these installs but none of these cables fit. So lost and have been searching this topic for hours online

I ended up getting it to work but the iPod connection never ended up working. I had to use a headphone aux in cord
