Line-X makes two versions. A truck bed version and another version for vehicle parts and accessories. I have seen the vehicle parts version and it looks really nice.

Ultra is smoother, thinner, cleans easier, holds color, and is lighter weight. Unfortunately, you have to find a place that does it since it can't be applied with the same machines as apply bed liner and you pay the brand name tax. As you can tell I'm a fan but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Hoping more places start carrying this or something similar and it gets cheaper.

I've seen a lifted Wrangler with Kevlar paint on it in flat gray driving around my town... It looks pretty sweet.

From my own personal experience....

-I've used the roll-on liner about 7 years ago on an old Dakota that already looked like hell. The liner didn't help nor hurt the look lol. The DIY aspect of a roll-on or spray on liner is (personally) a terrible idea unless it's your beater truck.

-I've seen PROFESSIONALLY sprayed Rhino Lining on a brand new truck and it looked amazing. Obviously this costs a ton, but it'd make an old paint job disappear.

Like others have said, it's a pain in the a$$ to clean unless you're just using a power washers. Oh, and try accidentally rubbing up on a cargo liner on bare skin, it hurts bad. Now imagine that covering the whole car lol.

Bottom line:
I personally believe that it's a cool idea, but not practical in the sense you are probably hoping for.

I have my whole 4runner painted in Monstaliner and I've been having a heck of a time with it It just started bubbling up on the edge of the hood from the heavy rain in kansas and it's been chipping on the undercarriage pretty bad everywhere else it's been great and durable. I'm trying to find a way I can just keep it intacted

I vote an alternate route. How about a sick air brush job. Flames, zebra stripes, fish scales, or a giant wizard holding a crystal ball and chains leashed to lions with your kids (if you have 'em) or special lady friends face imposed... the possibilities are endless.

Why not go with a satin vinyl wrap instead? you can take it off or replace it if you need to. There was a guy at work who had a sedan that was sprayed with bed liner. He said it really weighed the vehicle down. I remember the texture was very uneven.

Everything black you see I bedlined myself with duplicolor bedliner spray on. It came out fantastic.

Pros:
Easy to apply
Easy to repair
Cheap
Durable
Looks "tough"
Absolute zero refracted light off my hood (paired with a dashmat it's the ticket)
Hood is now a usable table

Cons:
Gets dirty very fast
Takes more time to clean and detail then paint

I bought my truck did a blackout job. Kinda screwed up the front. Took some trail damage and decided to paint the whole front bumper. Similar story in the rear but just trail damage and a ripped off valance.

Going back I would have left everything stock and just wrapped my hood. It would just be easier to clean and keep clean. Oh well at least my truck is unique and it's nothing I can't change.
