bedrail connected rack pictures

I think I have finally decided on the rack I am going to build for my 87'. I would like to build one that connects to the bed rails and has uprights that connect to a basket up top. kind of like a rack system on a pickup, except the uprights go around the top. I figure this way there is lots of load capacity, I can run it with or without the top, and most importantly I don't need to drill into the fiber-glass. I was wondering if you guys had made one, or have pictures of any? I ran a search and have found nothing.

thanks,
Chet

When I got my "Softopper" they offered a similar rack. You may want to take a look at theirs. Very similar design, it may give a bit of insight.

Thanks for the responses guys
I am looking for someone who has built one preferably
I checked with the two recommendations and they came up with aluminum systems. I was looking for some backyard ingenuity to learn from as well as industrial so I can design something as best I can. Thanks for the help, I will take these desings into consideration.

No problem, brother. Just saw those and remembered your post.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on your concern about maintaining a proper seal. Good luck, and if you do fab one up, please post it for all to see.
