Meet at the Shell gas station at

44462 California 74, Hemet, CA

Take off from the gas station at 0930
and hopefully make it to the top just in time for brunch.
After that we can make our way down the backside of the mountain into Palm Springs via more trails.

It is a Green circle easiest trail that after the rains has some decent ruts and bumps but nothing serious. It is mostly a fire road along the edge of a hill with some great views. climbs from 2200 ft at the bottom to 6000ft at the top going through many vegetation changes from scrub brush at the bottom to in the middle of tall trees near the top. There is also a river crossing that is a great break spot in the shade.

Yes a 2wd can make this trail pretty easily.

I have a lot of overdue maintenance on my truck and house but will try to make it as I really enjoy that trail. There are several other trails in the area that have spectcular views as well that I enjoy that we can do another time.

Seems like a fun time. To confirm a stock TE on crap stock tires can breeze thru the drive? I need to see if my kids have Tae Kwon Do class but if there is still room would like to join.

A stock 2wd on crap tires can make it. I believe Keemo's vehicle was/is stock and has done it a few times. It is basically a bumpy rutted fire road.

time has been changed to 0900 meet up and 0930 departure. A couple of guys attending cant make it until 9.

I don't have a CB yet, I carry Motorola Talk About radios will these work?

Other than tow straps ,water and food what else do I need ?

For this run- all you really need is food and water folding chairs are good for a rest break. However I always plan for the what if's and have tow strap, tools, fluids, spare clothes, food for an extra day.

Best practice is to do a vehicle walk around checking tire condition, fluid levels prior to any road or off-road trip at minimum. Then if you feel inclined bring additional supplies. If you are going off-road even a fire road it is best to have at least one other vehicle.


ALSO very important****** start each trail with full tank of fuel**** that is why a lot of groups meet at or near fuel stations.
