Been busy with installing Mods and accessories

Been a busy week end! I only purchased my 2005 4runner SR5 a little over a month ago and I couldn't help myself, Lots I want to do, some I managed to actually do.
Here is what I managed to accomplish so far:

* Auto dimming Gentec rear view mirror w/compass and Homelink
* Blacked out Altezza Tail lights
(*) Blacked out headlights on order from Burtmans....
(*) New Set of MTEC 442's and 443's waiting to install in new headlights (9006 and 9005 replacements)
* DRL Mod (added relay)
* JA’s Maplight mod
* Auto on/off headlight mod (3/4ths finished, Built wiring harness need sensor)
* Limited dimmer stalk (for auto headlight mod)
* AVS Bug deflector
* AVS Rain guards
* Chrome Exhaust Tip
* Driver's Oh-Crap Assist Handle

So far so good...

Going to add JA's LED Mod for interior lights and add the foot well lights as well...

* want to add:
Pioneer Stereo with bluetooth and USB, Upgrade my amps.
Bull bar or a brush guard (still trying to decide)
PIAA Lights
Skid plate
3/2 toytec lift
Upgrade Rims and Tires

Hoping Warpwr can tell me if his 12/120 inverter switch (100/400) is a SPDT switch first press is 100 second press is 400 then off (want to use it in a future mod idea)



Always looking for something cool to add

LOL I posted this late after finishing up a that last mod (JA's Map Light mod which works like a champ http://www.top4runners.com/ja/2007/maplightmod.html )

Somehow I knew I would get that respose.... I have been waiting for the blacked out headlights to come in from Jason Burtmans site, because I think that will have the biggest Wow factor. I know these pictures could use some improvement and I will get better pictures later however.....

In the mean time:

I would be worried about having your aux lights so low to the ground, it seems it would pretty easy for road debris to rip something off, and if you ever take it off road, they definitely wont last.

Maybe you could cut some holes into the lower grille and mount them there? They would be a little more protected

Just my two cents...

I think it's tinted. What's probably happening is the background (the front end of his 4Runner) is very bright, couple that with the fact the windshield is not tinted, so a lot of light is entering the cabin making the back glass appear not tinted.

The other possibility is the 4Runner is his driveway and he's taking the picture from inside his garage or he's in the shade the sunlight is coming directly at him from the front of the 4Runner. So the camera is compensating for the lack of lighting and dark subject (his 4Runner). If you look at the bushes and trees, they appear to be washed out... the background is overexposed.
 
Lights,..... Well that is a temporary thing, as soon as I get that bull bar or Brush guard I am moving to different lights. I know I need to move them. So far I have not had an issue......

Unneek is in deed correct the back window is indeed tinted, it got Very bright outside after being overcast and I was inside my garage when I took the pictures and overexposed the picture.
I am getting the front windows tinted (I think what I read was that 20% was a good match) not having those tinted likely did not help either.

Getting there... I want to find a set of the Factory rims like these,

Maybe Powder coat them and do the 3/2 lift to accomodate the larger tires and put on a bolder tire as well.

I'm sure you know, but those are 18" wheels. Just wanted to make sure you knew that you'd have to buy new tires as well with those wheels.

Truck looks GREAT!!! Coming along very nicely!

Yep I know, I like the way they look and it keeps it factory. With the 3/2 lift I am sure I will be able to get some meaty tires under there. Seems that I read that I might have to put in spacers as well so that I do not get any rubbing, is that true?

I have toytecs spacer lift and that gave me about 3" up front and 2" in the back and I'm running 275/70/17 MT/R's with VERY LITTLE rubbing. It only rubs when I have the wheel completely turned. Other than that I didn't have any issues with that size.

EDIT: Thought I should add that if you put spacers in you can get bigger tires. I'm probably going to get spacers next just for a wider stance.

:iagree: those will be gone your first trip off roading. let me find a write up on how someone put their square fogs in their bumper...looked really good!

A10MileHusker, Wow That does look good,I would not have thought to have done it that way. Now I have to decide if I am going to do that how will that look when I add the bull bar? (if I add it because I am liking the way that looks). Do not suppose they named the brand of light they used?

4Runner8, it wasn't just you... I was having some trouble as well with BlairB's link as well and I was digging off into all of my settings (typical IT cannot just be the simple thing) BlairB /4Runner8 Thank's for getting that out there I like it and the switch would be a simple one. Still I would like to know who did the mod so I could get some details....:zoom:

I was tempted to try IFORCE/HRUNNER's Blacked out headlight thread, http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?threadid=12065 but since my headlights are doing that peeling cracking thing I figured I would just do the remove and replace. They are not bad and it can be corrected but at this point I would rather just R and R them and move on :)

Should I replace the Orange marker lkight with a white led? I have seen some mention of that....
