I didn't think they ever put these on sale but it seems they are now. $153 is a great price!

If you're going to spend a ton on a battery, I'd go with an Optima--great reputation, especially with those that really work and abuse their vehicles and batteries.

Optimas are getting lots of negative feedback since they got bought and their factory moved to Mexico. The Diehard Platinums are supposed to be rebadged Odysseys, which is an AGM just like the Optima.

My red top has given me good service, but I'm not sure I'll buy another when it's time to replace it.

If you're still looking for a battery Autozone sells their Duralast Platinum AGM for about $140. People online are saying they are rebadged Deka Intimdator batteries. I bought two of these Duralast Platinums at the beginning of this year and so far no issues.

There are lots of complaints about the "new" made in Mexico Optimas. I have one in my wifes Mazda and no issues yet after a year and a half or so. But.. I don't expect it to last 10 years like my first USA made Optima did.

Just looked up the DEKA Intimidator battery. Looks like a good choice to me when it comes time for a new battery. Standard batteries for our trucks run in the 120 dollar range, so another 30 or 40 bucks for a high quality AGM battery.
