Before I Buy, Anything Else?

Before I go out and buy my lift, is there anything else that is not on this list that I will need? Any suggestions? I have blown my rear shocks in the last month while hauling lumber, brick and mulch while working in the yard, so the time is right to get a lift with an upgrade in capacity.

OME 881 Coils
OME 891 Coils
OME N91SC Shocks
OME N86C Shocks
Sonoran Steel Adjustable Trac/Panhard Bar
4crawler Differential Drop
Toytec Top Plate Spacers?(Do I really need these? I want a slight rake with my lift)

I'm also going to throw in the 4crawler 1" body lift, just in case I need the room for 285's.
Is there anything else that I need?

Also, I was looking on the web for tires, has anyone used the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires? 285.75.r16 is the size that I want.

all looks good i have the same set-up but remember that OME stock will have rake to compensate for a load in the back of your truck and thats about 1/2 inch in the back. and im not entirely sure you need the trac bar as my friend got one and it did extremely little of anything for his rig.

other than that i cant wait to see pictures when you get it all together.

Did you use any top plate spacers other than stock? Just curious if I really need to get the ones from Toytec. Also, you said your friend bought the panhard bar and didn't notice a difference, did you use the stock panhard bar? I do plan on off-roading once in a while, and I only have to drive about 3 miles to work every day, but we use the 4runner for family trips, so driveablity is important.
 
I wouldn't bother with the top plate spacers, but I would get the adjustable panhard bar or a panhard bar drop bracket. I have OME890 coils with stock panhard setup and they have shifted the natural resting position of my rear axle .5 - 1 inch towards the passenger side. The 891's will do at least if not more. Remember, the panhard bar will not give you any more or less lift, it just gives the axle its lateral stability and positioning.
I personally think the diff drop is useless and have been told so by some people who actually make them. The condition of the cv boots and their clamped location is the key to whether or not they survive. The actual cv joint is easily capable of running at the new angles. But of course its up to you to decide.
 
I used the same OME stuff to do my lift, but I didn't use the diff drop or the spacer plates. I've also got 285's on there without doing the body lift. They only rub when I try to make really tight turns, but other than that they have no problem fitting.
 
Thanks everyone for the advice. I think that I will forego getting the top plate spacers for now, unless there is too much rake. Anyone use the toytec body lift? How is it?

This is a fine setup if you like to haul the heavy loads in back. You will have rake, but I like it and it is hardly noticeable to anyone but us Runner fanatics

No I would not bother with the spacers.

Techno knows his stuff-some people still think the diff drop is a wise idea or just cheap insurance. I like his thoughts about the panhard drop and kind of lusting for that now...
 
haha i wold say no to the top plate spacers but i think its up to personal opinion because i like about a half inch of rake to compensate for all of my gear so when im al done my truck sits level. and techno knows his stuff and the panhard bar makes sense but if you really need it then get it i just heard it might move around that half inch but ive heard there most beneficial on bigger lifts and all of the doodads that go with it.

OME is a great choice i have a friend with coil overs and OME set up out back and he was impressed with my ride off road it was very accepting of the terrain (aired down of course too)
 
OK, so now I need the top plate spacers to run 285's? How about if I just get a 1 inch body lift from 4crawler. Then I won't need the top plate spacers right?
 
spacers will be cheaper than a body lift thats for sure. body lifts include a ton of shop time unless you plan on doing it yourself. but yes the above is correct.

Why does a body lift need a lot of shop time? It's just spacers between the frame and the body. I'm only going for an inch 4crawler body lift..

I also have one 5mm OME front trim packer and a set of Toytec front spacer plates with studs. Both are brand new in package, PM if you are interested.
