Beginners Trail Recommendation?

Hey Canuckie, How about you worry about your PM & let us Americans worry about our current POTUS!! We don't want any Liberal crap like we had from the previous 8 years POS Liberal WHO gave away EVERYTHING. Oh How about looking at HIS Response to H1N1 virus!? That's right Clinton News Network & MSNBC didn't talk about that Because they're OWNED by George LIBTARD Soros.
FACTS From the CDC estimated that 151,700-575,400 people worldwide died from (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection during the first year the virus circulated.

 :wtf:

In a way I feel kinda bad for you folks in the states. A lack of leadership from the President who has no clue how to handle a very serious crisis means you now have the highest death rate of any country in the world and different rules set by states and counties with no national cohesive plan. Now I hear he wants to fire Fauci because he doesn't agree with him. This isn't The Apprentice.

Obviously your actual factual knowledge is insufficient to write or speak on the subject. Reminds me of the the quote “The fewer the facts, the stronger the opinion” by Arnold Glasow.
The U.S. while having the highest “reported” death count, actually has one of the lowest per capita death rates! Your “confirmation bias” source for propaganda won’t tell you that. Before offering sanctimonious vacuous prattle about leadership in the United States, you might want look at your blackface cross dressing P.M. before commenting about other countries. I’d suggest you practice your curtsy in case the Queen comes to visit her colonies.

Here’s another quote for serfs and those seeking to be serfs.

“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
― Benjamin Franklin

He's Canadian, what does he care what Benjamin Franklin said? :D

Wow. The OP just wanted a little trail advice from a friendly community of experts.

Haha exactly why discussing politics is not allowed, it always devolves into this. There's a separate forum for off-topic stuff but for whatever reason Roverguy1 felt the need to bring politics and covid-19 into this thread. And well, now we saw what happens.

swampy_swimmer, best suggestion for you is to look up local guidelines and any restrictions for national forests in your area and find a forest service roads or OHV maps to help guide you. Typically forest service roads are little more than gravel roads with a few ruts and rocks. As their name implies it's really meant for forest maintenance so most trucks and SUVs can pass easily.

Good luck.

I'd also like to know more about how to find places (once the 'rona panic is over)... We've got several off road parks, or I could go to the UP for Drummond Island... but resources for trails in MI seem pretty light (or my google fu sucks?).

I don't know anything about the UP but just looking at Google Maps it seems to be all national forest up there. Meaning when things open back up just head to your local ranger station. Ask them what trails are good, where the best camp sites are, the road/weather conditions, and get a OHV map. Every national forest should have some sort of OHV map available for free. Some even have the Nat Geo forest maps too so check out your local outdoor retailer. That would be your best resource.

Other suggestions would be alltrails, trailsoffroad, GAIA, Youtube and forums. I've never been a fan of off road parks. It's usually just a bunch of hill billys in Jeep crawlers doing stupid sh*t. Good to learn the functions of your 4Runner but they really aren't that fun.

A quick search brought this up easily...
