I have a 3.4L 5ZE-FE engine and it is making a high pitched noise that goes away when I spray water on the rib side of the belt that turns the alternator, crankshaft, and water pump. The sound does not go away when I spray the other belts so from what I have been reading on forums it sounds like a misaligned pulley. Is there any way that the alternator pulley is the one misaligned since the water pump and crankshaft have other belts on them as well but still make the noise when sprayed with water? The belts are oem toyota belts with unknown mileage on them but upon inspection seem to have good tension and visually look okay, no cracks or fraying.
