Beneficial Shock Absorbers?

Hi,
I've got stock suspension on my truck and it handles just fine,
but was wondering if an upgrade to the Tokico Trekmaster Shocks are recommended?
Would I find any difference, and is this a D.I.Y. job.
Not looking to raise ride height or anything, just a sportier or even smoother ride.
