I just installed this deflector last night on my 06 and all i can say is i'm really impressed with how it looks and the fitment is great.. all the necessary parts are included.. I had to take off the grill to install it though, which was not that bad really, 8 10mm bolts and it's off... i will try and take pics for you guys later.. so yeah just thought i'd share with all you 06-07 owners that are planning on getting a hood deflector/bug shield for your 4R... oh and btw this is a canadian version and i got mine at

http://www.autoseattle.com/new_4Runner.htm

They don't have a picture of the deflector on the 06-07 though

Pare, looks slick man. I always liked the Canadian version since it's more subtly styled and covers more area. Plus it has a lower profile. I was thinking of getting one for my SE as it would blend with my dark paint.

Have you washed your truck yet with it on? My concern is water collecting underneath and the clearance. I imagine waxing underneath would be difficult and the only way to effectively do that is to remove it entirely temporarily. But asides that It would save me the small chips I get from highway driving. Any vibration?

Oh BTW the second and third shots show your plates. Should fix that post if you can.

Thanks for the heads up on the plate.. i'll try fixing it when i get a chance...

That's a very good question regarding the clearance, i thought about it and you are right about having a difficult time in cleaning under it.. i haven't cleaned yet maybe tomorrow i'll definitely let you know how it goes.

There are two gel type round bumps that was provided for you to put it in the middle so the shield doesn't hit your hood, no vibrations so far, seems like a snug fit no movement or whatsoever.;):

how do you do it? are you saying that you remove the shield everytime you wash?

I dont do it...I kinda stick the chamoi under it, but other than that, it doesnt get touched unless I wax the truck...but I really only remove it twice a year.

Nice!! That sure looks good with the low profile, now I want one :D

Do you think it will survive the carwash?

I'm pretty sure it would survive the car wash.. just not one of those carwashes that uses a brush when you drive through, hand wash or touchless wash should be fine:)

Finally ordered the hood protector from AutoSettle.com last week and it came two days later.

I was so excited to open it... but after taking it out of the box, I knew somethings not right.

It was the wrong hood protector :(

The label indicates it's for a 2004-2006 Tundra. Ofcourse, I still tried to put it on top of the hood. Definitely does not fit.

I got in touch with autoseattle and they had the manufacturer figure out what happened :bonk:

Currently waiting to hear from autoseattle on how I would ship it back to them and get the right hood protector.

Still no hood protector. Autoseattle is still working with the manufacturer. I actually sent them a picture of the wrong hood protector on top of the 4Runner.

The manufacturer seem to mis-labeled all the hood protector for all 06-up with the wrong product code. I guess it's a good thing I'm the only one here who ordered it before they fix the problem.

AutoSeattle decided to just re-imburse me for the hood protector. The manufacturer (Auto Max from NY) was inssisting that the hood protector was for an 06 4Runner and never had problems with other orders...

The reimbursement is fine. Now, I don't know where to get that hood protector.
