Bent OEM Running Board

Had 2010 SR5 in for service last week for 5k tire rotation. Just noticed that driver side OEM running board bend on bottom edge right in the center.

I am meticulous about vehicle and am sure that was not there prior to having serviced. Any possibilities this could have been from the lift?

Yes, could the damage have been from the lift?

I am wondering if I would be wasting my time to point out to service manager. Thanks

I think he's asking of the car lift at the dealer bent the running board, not a lift kit.

Yes, if they misplaced the lift under the running board as opposed to the frame, then definitely it'll bend as soon as they try and lift the vehicle for service. The running boards support no more than 300-400lbs on them, there's no way they'll lift an entire vehicle.

lol, yea, you're probably right. i hear lift on here and my mind goes to one place.

if the lift bent it, wouldn't the running board be bent upwards? if that's the case, i would definitely go back and say something

I was in a shop a few weeks back, saw a suv on their lift. Their lift had just caught the edge of the running board and damaged it just as you said. I pointed it out to the guy I was walking around with, not sure if he was annoyed with me for calling him out on it or the guy who lifted it, either way I did not return! In short, yes the lifts can and will do it if improperly used.

The dealer could've also had the lift arms in the right place (under the frame rails), but didn't adjust the saddle or lift pad high enough to allow clearance for the lift arms to clear the running boards.

Showed the service manager the damage yesterday and without any questions, he placed an order for replacement running board and will install middle of next week. Pleased with customer service thus far.

Thanks again for everyone's input
