Bent tailpipe and maybe exhaust

I backed my tailpipe into some rocks recently out in the woods at around ~10-15mph in reverse and they were nice enough to bend the rear tip so that 3/4th of the diameter was closed.

Plus it no longer sits in the original noose in the back and kind of wiggles around a bit, and a part of the inner pipe bent about 1" away from the stock rubber noose that holds it in.

Took the car to a muffler shop to get the tip cut and replaced for $90 bucks.. goddam labor costs are expensive.

Anyway the gripe I have is that it doesn't sit in the original noose still, just a custom wire to hold it there. Any tips on what I should do or should I just leave it alone?

Inspect carefully in front of the axle for cracks/cat damage and then spend the $90 getting a tailpipe like mine Follow the link in my sig, I think you'll like:bigok:

The rear piece of the exhaust can be replaced if you just bent it at the upper part before it turns to go back into the muffler ... Ask me how I know! :lmao:

You can order the factory part (+ 1 gasket - non reusable part) and then bolt it back up. I did this but at the same time had a muffler shop cut and throw on the 90 deg elbow so it exited the side. Toyota factory parts + 40 bucks for the muffler shop and done!

I know it's been a while, but I have a kinda related question. I also bent my tailpipe slightly on my 2007 4Runner sport, as I backed slowly into another car. No real damage I can see other than it's bent such that the peg that's supposed to fit into the rubber hanger about a foot from the back end of the pipe is about 1-2 inches shy of being able to reach the rubber hanger I tried to bend back with a crow bar, but no luck. I'm now thinking of using a heavy duty ratchet strap with one end wrapped around the pipe and the other end wrapped around a big tree. If this seems like a bad idea for any reason, would love to hear about it. Thanks in advance!

For what it's worth, I bent my tailpipe on the trail and when I bent it back the pipe was still squished flat at one point close to the axle. At first I figured I'd replace the tailpipe behind the muffler, but there was no way I was going to be able to loosen the bolts connecting the rear part to the muffler part, so I ended up replacing the whole muffler with a Magnaflow Overland muffer. It's louder than I like, but it's better tucked in to where I don't think I will damage it on the trail.

Still have the tail pipe part sitting in garage, trying to figure out what to do with it. If there's anyone in the Seattle area who needs it they can have it for free.
