Best 10' 2OHM Subwoofer

I blew my JL 10w6v2 in the JL box and I want to use the box again. Any ideas on a good replacement sub. money isn't a problem and the amp is RMS at 500 watts at 2 OHM. Let me hear what you think.

I'd highly recommend the Type R, the Type X not so much, IIRC you'd need about 1k watts to get that sub moving pretty good.

Type R = Best bang for your buck, definitely not an SQ sub though, more SPL.

Type X = Great SQ, but less SPL then the Type R. Hits a lot lower too. But unless you're planning on running it with more power you're not gonna take advantage of it.

The 10w6v2 has some of the best SQ out there, you should just get another, you can probably find one on ebay for a decent price.

Yeah, the Type X needs a little more than 500 watts to get going, but if his amp can handle 1 ohm then it probably can power it.

The IDQ V3, FI Q, and Digital Designs 2500 all put out really good SQ. I know they aren't as well known, but sometimes the little guys make better stuff.

well its not fully busted yet its only when i turn the volume to the max volume I allow that I hear the rattling. and the bass boost isn't turned up real high on my amp or radio. my EQ is set like this Bass +2 Mid +6 Treble +6, Subwoofer +6, Bass Boost +1. anybody think this might have something to do with it? BTW I have a Pioneer Premier DEH P500UB

leave the sub at 0 and boost it from the amp, when u have sub at +6 ur clipping the sub, sending distort signal to the amp, put everything at 0 and reset the gain and then bass at the normal +2 and then the mp u apply a lil boost to help.

just put everything to 0 and then set the gains all over, then use the eq to do the bass mid and treble, just leave the sub to 0, if u need more bass then use the bass boost on the sub amp. i think around +3 to +5 is enough bass.

Morel Ultimo

Hi, I think that if you are looking for SQ, the Morel Ultimo is the best choice!
