Best 3rd Gen Junkyards in Central Ohio

Hey guys,

Need some help. Owned my 2000 4Runner for 2 1/2 years now. Anytime I've needed a body/interior part I've just gone to the classifieds on here and purchased what I've needed. Used [MENTION=78895]DeathCougar[/MENTION] several times. Great guy...parts are always in good shape and he gives me a good price, but shipping is killing me.

So, that's where y'all come in. I live in central Ohio...just east of Columbus. I'm looking for a good pull yard (junkyard) around here that has some 3rd gen 4Runners in them. My rig is in pretty good shape, so you do have to worry about me scarfing up a lot of parts at your secret honey hole.

You aren't far from me, have you called Miller's out by zanesville? That is where I usually call when I need something for just about anything. Haven't had to call for anything for my 4R yet, but last time I was there I believe I saw a couple.

Hey Josh...thanks for the name. I'll try and look up them up and get direction to them and go check them out. At Millers...do they allow you to walk the yard and pull your own parts? I hope so...that what I love to do!

It depends, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Mostly depends on what you are getting and once you get to know them they usually give you free reign out there. Make sure your 4wd is in good working order if it has been raining at all in the past few days.

This really isn't helpful. But I am just being that guy. Literally almost had a crisis looking at the picture of you rig. Very nice truck Sir.

It depends, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Mostly depends on what you are getting and once you get to know them they usually give you free reign out there. Make sure your 4wd is in good working order if it has been raining at all in the past few days.

Jdog...thanks for the kind words. I've had a lot of fun putting my rig together over the last couple years! I just noticed...I used an older pic. That one was before I installed my ShrockWorks bumper and warn winch. I still have a set of sliders the need to be installed. Hopefully I'll get those on this weekend!

There's a place up in Marengo right of SR229 that has a couple of 3rd gens, as well as a place up in Richwood (past Delaware) called Kirby's that has a ton of cars, and probably 3rd gens. I know my dad sent me picture of a pristine tailgate from Kirby's on a 3rd gen. As far as Columbus goes, you're kinda SOL. I found a 3rd Gen at a Pick-n-Pull in South Columbus but it is in rough condition. Not a truck to pull interior parts from. Lol.

I'm always down for a day of finding lost treasures! I will warn you, the fellas at Kirby's are a bit stingy. So at least have an idea of what you are there for. They don't particularly care for people just roaming every car, but the guys know their inventory well enough to tell you where to find certain models of vehicles, and are usually reasonable on prices considering the fact it's a large junkyard in a little farmtown.

Shoot me a PM if you're thinking about going to some yards anytime soon. I'd love to at least drool over your truck!

Thanks for the compliment...it's much appreciated!! Unfortunately I don't have a build thread. I've thought about it so many times...but just haven't.

When I did my graphics...I just wanted something different than what everyone else had...there's so many "white" 4Runners. I actually painted my rig...but now Plasticdip has so many different colors you can use now. Break some out and have fun. If it doesn't look good, peel it off and start all over...no harm, no foul. Just have fun with it :artist:

Maybe you guys could help, looking for the passenger side limited front flare, the baby front flare that attaches to the OEM bumper.

Silver in color, 96-00 should all be same silver from desert dune limiteds...
