Best AT tires (opinions)

Well first off you need to decide if you are going A/T's or M/T's. What type of driving do you do? More on road than off road, is this your daily driver??? What type of off roading do you do??
As far as A/T's you can go with the BFG TA KO, GY Silent Armor, General Grabber, and Nitto Terra Grappler. Those will be the most popular ones for those. Also use the search function to see reviews of those tires because alot of guys on here run all of those tires and you should get good reviews from there.
You can also go with a hybrid tire that is a little more aggresive than the A/T but not a true M/T. That would be the Goodyear Duratrac and the Kelly Safari TSR.
If you go with a M/T tire you can look at the Hankook Dynapro MT, Toyo Open Country MT, BFG KM and KM2, Cooper STT, Mastercraft Courser, Definity Dakota and Goodyear MTR's.

If you are mainly on road you should look at the Bridgestone Revo2 or the Nitto Terra Grappler.
For a more aggressive look try the BFG KO or the Goodyear DuraTrac.
Myself and others think that the DuraTrac looks more aggressive and drives better in many situations that the BFG KO.

If you really aren't leaving the Pavement then definelty avoid the BFGs since their wet weather manners are subpar to the Nittos and Duratracs which I have experience on the three.
The Nittos or Revos might fit your bill better or if you can afford 'em go for the Michelin LTXs which have good treadlife and all three are great tires for the street with the occasional trail not being an issue.

Over the years I have run several All-Terrain tires. The BFG ATs (4Runner), Yokohama Geolander A/T-S (Tacoma) and Nitto Terra Grapplers (Land Cruisers). The Nittos have been my favorite so far...easy to balance, relatively quiet and have worked well in all the road conditions we normally take the Cruiser in...from Moab slickrock to CO winter roads.

The BFG ATs should be able to take you to 50k miles. I know several people who have had these tires make it past 100k. In the summer I changed out a set of BFGs that had over 85k on them on my silverado. On the 4runner I am trying out a set of Hankook Dynapro ATm. So far I like them. They seem to grip well on ice. I just put these on in November and have over 8k on them already with no sign of wear yet.

Yeah and they still had about 1/8 of tread left. I actually put them on craigslist and they sold for $140 bucks. Not bad in my opinion. The only complaint I have about them is that they would not balance right until about 40k miles. After that they were perfect. I rotated them every 10k miles. I also had acess to a top-notch alignment rack and machine and I knew how to use it so I checked up on the alignment every now and then. Mostly after I had went off-road. I kept the tire pressure checked too.
