Best bad weather/fog lights

Looking to add a set of lights for bad weather and mostly FOG. Going to do the satoshi grill mod soon and was thinking of putting some inside the grill but think it might be too high for foglights? Currently running HID 6000k low beams in factory projectors and HID 3500k foglights and the combo works well. But would like a little more distance from the foglights. Looking for suggestions.

Baja Designs lights are apparently quite bright. I plan on doing this same mod as I find my fog lights worthless for actually illuminating anything.

That build thread has some pics but his description is:

I used this kit from Baja Designs: LINK

Short version: I removed the stock fog lights, I drilled a new hole about 1 1/2" back from the inner hole (which you can see in the picture above), then mounted the new lights in the fog light pockets. As you can see from the link above, the kit comes with two black plates to mount the lights to. Each plate has two "ears" that are 90 degree bends. You use bolts to secure the plates (with the lights attached) in place.

I'll do a write up this weekend and post it up here in the 4th Gen section.

Rigid Industries Dually Pro, driving spector, in the fog light locations are stupid bright. They sell customs brackets for a clean install on our 4Runners. I love them!

I can’t seem to find the brackets for the 4th Gen.

My bad. I have them on my 5th gen. Must have forgot which forum I was in. Hopefully they will make them for the 4 gen soon.

I don't know what year your 4Runner is but you can always install Rigid DOT dually lights and install it behind grille. You may have to cut a little bit of plastic to fit the pods but Rigid's lighting output is fantastic. There are other options like BAJA mentioned by a member in this thread or ebay LED pods...it boils down to how much you are willing to pay for increased lighting

This is how my 4Runner looks with 10" light bars (amber for hood, white for lower grille and pair of white dually floods on rear bumper) including the satoshi grille you see in these pictures below

I would definitely look at DOT approved ones though - I doubt my dually floods would be legal for daily use as fogs

Best FOG light I have ever used is the Hella 550 Amber.

I Have rigid D2's with yellow covers in the lower grill that seem to work excellent and cut through the bad weather
Rigid duallys in the factory fog locations in fog pattern with printer 3d inserts
that make things seem to glow

That combo works great and if it gets real bad, theres rigid dually spots on ditch light brackets.

Thanks guys. I like the BD squadron series but my goodness the price is insane followed closely by rigid. Although you know what they say, you get what you pay for...
