Best Deals on 5th Generation Purchase

I'm interested in purchasing a new 2010 SR5 and want to hear about successful deals any of you have worked with dealers.

Edmunds has 2010 SR5 model prices listed as follows;
MSRP: $29,175
Invoice: $26,548

The lowest MSRP's I see on the local lots (Tampa, FL) are in the $32k range. I'm curious to know if anyone successfully purchased a new 2010 SR5 for under $30k or at least got close to it?

i dont believe a lot of dealers are giving that much of a deal since its a brand new truck-edmunds prices that out msrp probably with no options and other fees, here in NY from what it seems all the dealers have the 4runners with the convience package, so the price gets bumped to around 34,920 msrp.

Well a few months ago people were fretting the reported almost $40k for the TE models and nothing under $35 for 4wd but that doesn't seem to be the case with people paying under $35 for a nicley equipped SR5s and Limiteds have been just a tad north of $40k which is on par with pretty much the last 2 generations. (my '99 stickered at almost $36k in late '98)

32K for an SR5 4x4 with conveniance package, rear camera, 3rd row and a whole bunch of stuff. Only a few $$ over invoice. I pick it up on Monday because there wasnt any for a few hundred miles.

my cost on an sr5 model is 29.999k. thats employee cost on a '10 model year. they arent cheap but a limited sells for 42k to 45k retail so retail on an sr5 i would expect to pay 31 to 34k on your cost.

I bought my blizzard pearl SR5 with the premium package, upgraded stereo (dj package), sunroof, window tint, and protection package for $32,000.00 (msrp was around 34,400). I had the dealership down to $29,000 on a SR5 with sport fabric trimmed seats, protection package, and cargo cross bars (msrp of 31,xxx). They also gave me top dollar on my trade.

I got my TE for $38k with the "conveniences" and" port add-ons" that can't really be removed.

Can not find a SR5 with third row seats any where, and I made a couple of calls to order the above car and could not get anything close to $30,000, most were asking for $32,500.

For what its worth, you'll probably never find a Toyota on a lot for its base price. There are many options that Toyota does not include in the basic trim levels. You'll usually find that there's at least one option, such as a "convenience package" that adds a few things. It would make life easier if Toyota just included them, such as the way Honda does it.

Because there are so many factory options, it's theoretically possible to order a base package plus a specific option. However, it's very unlikely that you'll get a dealer to place a special order for you and accept a rock-bottom price near invoice for it. For some reason, the special order process is very difficult with Toyota, and most dealers don't want to bother with it. If they truly special order it from the factory (instead of just waiting for the right thing to magically appear at the port), then you're looking at 3-4 months to get it.

The finance guy at Toyota of San Diego quoted me a 100k warranty for $2600. I just laughed, told him I would give him a fair $900 and he said impossible. I showed him Troy's quote (which I will buy) and he then asked if I would pay $100 over his cost of $1200 and he showed me his book. I still declined and will be calling Troy in a couple of weeks.

What a rip off!!! They also were pushing and alarm without autostart for $750. Then to top it off they had told me the absolute best rate they could do was 5.99%. I should them my preapproved financing for 3.8% and they magically were able to match it.

Boy was the finance guy pissed. The sales guy was really cool though.
