Best IN-DASH nav system for 2005 4Runner

Can anyone tell me what is the best in-dash nav system for a 2005 4Runner Limited? I was told that I could not get the V6 model with navigation but that I could have it installed on my own if I wish.
I hear a lot about the Alpine system. Any opinions, comments, suggestions, and recommendations would be most welcome. Thank you.

get the OEM version... that's what i'd suggest. do a search and you can find the vendor or search teh electronics forum

The 05 brochure says nothing about the V6 Limited not offering Nav, why would the Limited not have Nav, the NY dealers might just order them in popular configurations and a V6 with Nav is not something 2 many people want, dealers order what they know can sell.

Have you tried calling the Toyota 800 number and you could always try bestbuy they have a lifetime quarantee on all parts and will fix anything if their is a problem

You should be able to get a NAV with the V6, you might have to go to dealers out of state to do so, but if you really want it, this will probably be your best bet. That is, unless you want some other option that the other particular region doesn't offer.

If you decided to just go ahead with a non-NAV model, I'd say go with the Camry (if you get a non-JBL system) or the Solara (if you get a JBL system) navigation from oemvalue.com. A few people on the boards have done it, do a search and you should find a lot of info on it.

This is the exact question I have! Why in hell would'nt the V6 Limited have nav? Maybe it is a NY issue. I did call some other dealers in CT and they also said NO NAV. Then I called one dealership somewhere in NJ and he tells me he can get me the Limited V6 with NAV in just a few days guaranteed. Is he tellin me the truth or is he just trying to sucker me into the showroom. So far this has been an extremely annoying shopping experience.

Is there a quick way for me to search dealers across the country that might carry the V6 Limited with nav? I want to avoid making any kinds of modifications to the vehicle because I will be leasing it.

Not that I know of...I did a quick search of my local dealer's inventory and found 2 2005 Limited V6's with Navigation. It is definately possible to get it. I guess you could call around or send emails. A lot of dealers have their inventories listed on their websites, so you could check that out.

Where are your local dealers if I may ask? Thanks.

I have a 2003 LTD, I spoke with Mark Gaviola from Parkway Toyota in Englewood Cliffs NJ and he quoted me $2300 for the navigation system installed with 3 year warranty. I might be doing it in a couple of months. I purchased an Eclipse AVN2454 which is an excellent unit but it turns out that I will have to loose the rear seat audio controls and headphones so I just had it installed in my VW GTI.
