Best Oil for High Mileage Engine?

Valvoline max life blend is my choice. 5w30 as recommended regardless of mileage, but if it burns a bit too much I step up to 10w30. Paired with an OEM Toyota YZZD1, no excuse to not use OEM filters, they're cheap.

I've been using Mobile1 5w-30 full synthetic since I got this car around 160k.
It's now at 231k with no issues still, runs smooth.

I just stock up every time it goes on sale on Costco

Any oil that meets the spec of 5W-30 and factory requirements.

Like others suggested if leaking and burning oil is a problem jump to 10w-30. Also regular oil changes with good quality oil filters as well.


Synthetic oil is a major improvement in oil. So are synthetic blends.


Anything else is people's opinions on what is best actual oil.

There are thousands of pages of documentation of oil in Bob's the oil guy forum. Everyone is always welcome to research to your heart's content.




However, not required but they do any excellent job in reducing engine wear which makes engine life longer.
