Best paint for underside and rocker panels

I want to paint the rocker panels inside and out (including the outside that's visible from outside the car, below the doors) with some good durable black paint, to deal with the chips and rust bubbles. What do you recommend? Something like POR15 I guess, but that doesn't degrade in the UV. Maybe bedliner? Can it be brushed on?

We used Monstaliner. And you can brush it on - more like dabbing.

Two separate issues you are wanting to kill with one brush stroke here. POR 15 and similar products are NOT UV stable, nor do they have any inherit resistance to chips, but it is awesome for sealing out rust.

Bedliner material is chip resistant, and fills existing chips, does nothing on your rust.

Both can be brushed on.

I can grind off the rust bubbles and make it a nice surface before applying the paint, I just want something that is tougher than the factory paint that chips and starts rusting with every little rock ding or boot kick on the rockers.

One question: with the factory paint you quickly notice if it's rusting because it travels underneath and makes bubbles. With Monstaliner or something similar, would it hide any developing rust because it doesn't bubble?

Yes. This happened to a buddy of mine. Be bedlined his wheel wells and only found the rust when it came through the otherside. Of course, I don't know how well he prepped before he shot the bedliner - so there's a variable you can probably control.

You can hide rust with new paint. With paint. And any paint. ITS ALL ABOUT PREP. !!! But with rust. Let’s be honest, you need to 100% remove it.
