Best place to tap into constant power source?

I'm prepping my 04 T4R for a US road trip in the fall and I'm looking to do some wiring on the interior. I'm green when it comes to electrical work, so I wanted to get some advice on the best place to tap into a power source behind the dash or center console.

I'd like to wire in a dashcam and also add a 12V outlet that is hooked up to a constant power source that is active with the truck not running. I will also want to install a 1000W inverter, but that may be as simple as hooking it up to the newly added 12V outlet using the plug that most inverters come with.

What would you guys suggest? Thanks for any guidance on this!

There is a simple hack to keep your 12volt outlet active on this forum. For a constant 12v, I would suggest maybe the ignition constant that goes to the radio since the dash cam is low powered? Maybe someone else can chime in with suggestions.

just be very careful with that. its really easy to drain enough power running things a while drawing power out of the battery and find you are not be able to restart it, but still have lots of battery to run things so you dont notice it getting weaker. i often suggest carrying a spare battery for insurance against such things when camping or overnight trips
