I am in need of new front Brake pads. What is the best brake pads to buy and should I replace the rotors as well? I have an '04 Sport V8, 4WD.

Do you need new rotors? Stick with OEM pads and have the dealer or service repair shop turn the rotors.

I had my brakes changed under warranty due to a frozen caliper. The repair work was performed at a local dealer. I paid for the labor to turn the rotors, but the job was perfect. No squealing, no issues, and turning the rotors is cheaper than buying 2 new rotors plus having to pay for the labor to have them installed.

I heard them grinding away at the stock rotors for 15 minutes each. But, as long as the stock parts are within specification, I don't think you need new rotors.

Stick with OEM pads.

If you have squelling problems you may want to get a new shim kit to replace the original on the back of the pads.

If you don't have any issues with the rotors like warping that would produce a pulsation in the brake pedal then I would leave them.

If the surface is smooth also I wouldn't even have them resurfaced.
