Best rotary polisher?

I am looking to buy a new rotary after my Makita 9227 took a dump on me. I have a Flex DA (xc3401vrg) and, while it is nice, I need that rotary cut. I am looking at the Metabo (PE12-175) or a DeWalt? What do you guys use?

what does rotary cut mean? i have an orbital..i know that just mimiks the motion of handwaxing. whats the difference with all the polishers? which one is better?

a rotary only spins. a dial action spins AND rotates in an orbit. a rotary spins faster than a dual action polisher.

i love my dewalt. ive had it for 5 years and it still runs very strong at any rpm.

I have a Makita 9227 and a Dewalt 849. Too bad your Makita took a dump. One thing I love about the Dewalt is that it is very easy to control the trigger and therefore the speed and the cut. I've had the Dewalt for over 5 years too. Never had a problem.

Cyclo is orbital, not rotary :wink2:
