Best Spark Plugs To Use?

Which is the best plugs to use in the 4.0 L V6? The manual says to use Denso K20HR-U11 or NGK LFR6C11 but the ones in there now are Champion type 7975 and they seem to work fine. On ebay they are selling Denso PKH20TT, SK20HR11 and NGK IFR6T11 that are claimed to be the correct type for this model. I was thinking of going with the Denso Double Platinum PKH20TT type since they are much cheaper than NGKs, $29 vs $51 for set of 6. However the Champions and NGKs have little pointed electrodes while the Densos have flat plates on the contact area of the electrodes. I wonder if that would make a difference?

yea, so you make sure you dont get any misfire codes for wrong plugs or anything. But before you leave the dealer or wherever you get them check for cracks i had 2 that had cracks in them and had to get it towed to the dealer for misfire on cylinder 5 and 6 plus they only cost around $24

There really is no reason what so ever to get plugs from the dealer. They are one of the few parts that still maintains the manufacturers name on the product (tires are about the only other part I can think of). The denso's you buy at Advance, Napa, etc. are the exact same parts and substantially less.

You want to get the IKH20 for you rig.....I dint think your local auto part will have but the 4 digit number is what u need to give them.

The NGK or Denso plugs you buy at the dealer are the EXACT SAME PLUG you buy at your local parts store...only a lot less. Buying sparkplugs from the dealer is foolish.

Those with a V8 have to buy two different brands to keep it from the factory 'stock'

I put these in NGK Laser Iridium® Spark Plugs You can find out your part number and get them on Ebay for a reasonable price.

In my experience, Toyotas are very happy with NGK & Denso plugs and wires. Bosch is a good company also, but for some reason they cause occasional misfires... Its this really weird thing that no one has been able to really explain to me, but I've seen it happen.

You can get NGK & Denso Plugs cheaper online or from the parts store and they will be the same as factory or better, depending on type.

Check NGK's Website as they have an application chart to help you know which one is the one to buy to match OEM or go a little better.

Bosch is a good company also, but for some reason they cause occasional misfires.

In the past 've had problems with Bosch and Champion plugs. They might have changed by now. But NGK and Denso make excellent plugs. Never had problem with NGK plugs. Earlier Nippendenso (now called Denso) plugs had a problem of excessive radio noise. But that's no longer the case.

AC makes an excellent plug...but I've only used them on GM products.

I 2nd this one. I believe the NGK or Denso's will work. Just make sure they are Iridium. Stay away from anything else.
