Best Suspension for 35's (Part2)

Does this site have enough sponsors or what? Why is this forum so slow? Also, are there moderators that realize my last thread was spammed by HaungXX with some $hit about cheap airline flights..and now I cannot post in it.. :uzi:

I'm not exactly concerned with MPG, these things get awful mileage to begin with. I want to run 35's because everyone and their girlfriends have 4runners on 33's. Hell, it seems like in the off-road world 37's have been the new 35's since about 2003 when all the American trucks from the factory started coming with lifts on 37's and 22's. I plan to SAS this truck next fall and would like to still run 35's instead of 37's (which is what i've seen a lot of SAS guys run).
Any gear ratio suggestions for a 5-speed with 35's?

5.29s would be the best for 35s, even with a 5 speed IMO. You could get by with 4.88s, but since you don't care about mpgs and this is going to be a trail rig, go with 5.29s. What American trucks came from the factory with lifts, 37s and 22s?

Dude, it's a free forum. Sponsors aren't exactly clamoring to give us money I'm sure.

And the admins are just guys like you and me, this isn't their job. They'll get to it soon enough.

My broz all drive em! Chevy Full sizzzzeeee ya hear meeeeeee with 12" of lift body, drop bracket chromed of course.... duh, ohh and they come with a bandana on the rear view mirror!!!

there is no such thing as the right lift for xx" tires. all you can do is clearance the body/firewall for the suspension to cycle. 1" lift or 4" dosnt matter since the tire will travel on the same path right into your sheet metal

Fords, Dodge, Chevy. A lot of them came with 37's from Toyo and 22 inch crappy wheels. I think Fabtech and others had contracts with these manufacturers. Do you guys not remember driving past dealerships and seeing brand new lifted trucks on the lot..

those are trucks that the dealership modified, they did not come from the chevy factory with fabtec suspension parts

That is exactly right. Start by removing the strut in the front and then bolt your wheel and tire on and with a floor jack move it through the entire travel cycle. Hammer back anything that rubs. Do this a bunch of times and soon you will be clearanced and not rub with the exception of the tire on the frame at full lock. It works I am running 35's on my 98 right now with no lift what so ever. I am putting my coilovers on with 8 wraps in the rear soon but it can be done. Good luck bro don't let anybody tell you it cant be done. It can just get a bigger hammer:banana:
