Best wax and other thoughts...

Hi all,

I normally use Zano products:

But am wondering if anyone has used this Meguiar's product, NXT Generation:

Meguiar's Direct NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0 Paste

Using the full lineup from Zano has produced the most stellar appearance on my previous 2008 Tundra V8 Off Road in Black. I have yet to use it on my 4R Magnetic Grey. I am looking for any great (or bad!) experiences with waxes in my quest to save the paint!

Also, I have some sort of adhesive or possibly tree sap in a quarter size portion on my hood. I was able to get the majority of it off, but you can still feel it raised above the paint when you run your hand over it. What is the best thing to do for this...would a clay bar work? Do I need a compound? I wish I could post pics, but currently I am in Iraq. I had it waxed and it is currently stored in my garage until I return home in November.

I use Meg 21 Sealant - Meguiars #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 and DP Max Wax - DP Max Wax- Made with pure carnauba wax and advanced polymers. with amazing results.

Clay bar will work great but you must wax after.

I've been using Meguiars Nxt Gen liquid wax on my cars for the past 3 years. Its great, I have nothing negative to say about it. But now I use Meguiars Gold Class liquid wax, I think its 10 times better especially on black cars.

Thanks all! Thats exactly what I was looking for. Looks like Ill stick with Meguiar's products for now. I cant wait to get home and do a really good detail on her for the winter.

I use a random orbital buffer (6" I believe) and

Turtle brand swirl remover (for the older car when needed)
Nu Polish as required
Some semi-expensive liquid wax

The orbital buffer makes ALL the difference in the world. It cuts time to wax down to about 1/3 of normal. Polish/swirl remover takes a bit of time, but considerably less than doing it by hand.

I use Blackfire wet diamond, but I may try the Menzerna next:

The BF is super easy to apply/remove, even easier than Chemical Guys Jetseal. Durability is about the same but the ease of use makes it my current fav.

I know I can't afford to be spending that kind of money on wax though..

But the two waxes you mentioned above are excellent products! I'm thinking about trying them next when I'm out of Pinnacle Signature Series II. I've read that Pinnacle SSII works really well with white, and I have to agree. It definitely makes a white car pop!

Makes me want to go buy an acres of land in NE Brazil and plant lots of Carnauba Palm trees. That's seriously insane and makes me wonder what those detail shop guys use.

Next time, I'll know what to ask. (Yup it's true, I'm not into hand washing/waxing my vehicles - I'd rather be driving them.)
