Hey everyone, new member here, first time posting. I have a 99 4runner SR5. I need some advice on tires. I go to school in grand forks and and the winters here are pretty bad, so I'm looking for a good set of all terrain tires that are good on snow and ice along with a rugged look. Right now I'm torn between the nitto terra grapplers, bfg all terrains, and Goodyear wrangler duratracts. Also any recomendations on size would be helpful! I was thinking 285/75/16r. I just finished installing the rough country 3in lift which says it should clear 33's no problem. Keep in mind that I'm a college student and trying not to break the bank. Thanks!

I worked in the tire industry for about 5 years until last year. The cooper AT3 is a good tire. it can have some balancing issues going to larger sizes than factory. 55k mileage warranty
Nitto - IMO not the greatest A/T
BFG - A/T KO Discontinued, new A/T KO2 doesn't have a release on it yet and is expensive
DuraTracs - good tire if Goodyear is running a rebate. If you get the Goodyear Card can usually get a 80-160 rebate on them.
I would also look at the Toyo AT2, 50,000 mile warranty for that size and handles well in all conditions.

I would expect there is still stock out there. shouldn't be too difficult to find a set.
but that tire gets my vote.
