Better performance as engine breaks in?

My 2010 now has almost 16,000 miles on it. Lately it seems like the engine is performing better than ever. It may be just my imagination, but it just seems looser and more eager to perform. Has anyone else noticed an increase in performance as the engine approaches higher mileage?

I just past 20k on my 2010 Limited. I have notice in the last month or so an increase in gas mileage not huge but about 1 to 2 mpg on the last few tanks.

I have even noticed this at the 5k mark.

It's normal as the engine get broken in and all the internal parts "settle" and as a matter of fact most long term test cars @40k miles in magazines usually run the 1/4 mile quicker and get a little better MPGs than when new.

Yep, noticed a big difference in mine as well. I'm at about 20K.
