Better use for under rear shelf.

I carry stuff in my 4Runner. Stuff I need. I'm probably not the only guy that has stuff to carry. So, to keep my stuff organized I put it into tubs that fit under the rear cargo shelf. Problem was that the tubs slide around while driving. So, I attached a bit of the grippy Velcro to the bottom of the tubs.

I learned that the Industrial and Extreme versions of Velcro are way too strong for the cargo carpet. The plain old regular Velcro is perfect.

All you really need ia about half this amount of the hook side of the Velcro. Placed on the ends of the tub.

I slide my hand under the Velcro to separate it from the carpet.

Now I can turn, stop, and accelerate as I want without my stuff sliding around.

Of yea, I put grippy tool mats inside the tubs also.

Good idea. I'm trying to figure out a good way to carry my supplies, too. I have a box in my trunk with tools, jumper cables, etc. Seriously doubt I will ever need them, but one time I left the box in my garage because I was installing my subs. I had one of the hottest chicks I ever met ask me if I could jump her. Now I never leave home without.

How's your carpet holding up under the velcro? I'd think it would pull the pile out of the carpet after a while. Are you seeing any extra wear in the areas where you keep the bins?

Don't see any wear yet. However, I just added the Velcro on Sunday.

I plan on removing half of the Velcro before the weekend. It is suprising how well it works.

I tried no-slip tool tray liners under the tubs for a couple weeks. That worked but the glue let go. Wild driving also allowed the tubs to move. My goal was the haul-ass, won't move result.

The tool tray liner keeps the air pump, and round stuff from sliding in the tub that holds my tool stuff. A couple micro fiber towels keep the tools from rolling into each other.

Walmart has a great price on super sticky liner.
