Between these tires, which ones should I get

OK, I am between the Wranglers with the Silent Armor technology or the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVOS. Anyone have a recommendation? They are both 265/70/17 which, according to many here, is the largest tire that I can put on my stock wheels without a lift.

So which way should I go?

It seems that both have excellent ratings on tirerack.com - but the silent armor is something of an interest to me since I work with Kevlar and I am aware of it's benefits (I put kevlar tires on my bicycle and never had a flat since- i commute on my bike to the train station).

I personally have never been a huge fan of Goodyear tires although some of their product line is very good. I currently have the Revos onmine and absolutely love them. Only beacuse I've never ridden with the nre Silent Armor tires, my vote is for the Revo. They've been great on and off-road.

I had the same issue a few months ago. I've decided to go with Revos and I'm happy with them. Those tires grip like the have glue on them at any road condition. I compared both of them side by side in tire shop and I liked the pattern of Revos more, its cool looking and aggressive.

Are they fairly quiet at highway speeds?

Yes, I didn't mention any noise difference between Revos and stock Dunlops.

I would go with Goodyear SA. If Goodyear comes out with LT265/70/16, then it will be my next tire.

No one wants to put on the bigger tires on my truck. They say it would mess with the ABS. This is total BS. I dont want to buy them unless I am sure there is a shop willing to install them. Any suggestions?

It's a total BS. If you put 35" tires, I'd start to worry about ABS, but not 32". You might do what I did. I purchased them through a dealer, got rebate, and installed them at local garage which has tire balancing equipment.

Out of curiosity, why? I have the Revos so I'm a bit biased, but would like to understand what you've seen that makes you lean towards the Goodyear.

I have seen a video where they drove over glass and nails using the new Goodyears with kevlar, and how none of these items punctured the tire.

It based on the same tech they use in the military on the hummers. Their tires are now also kevlar.

So there is this shift towards looking at good year again.

However, I will take whats true and tested.

actually, the dealer matched a local Firestone dealer quote for 5 265/70/17s and no issues installing the larger tire. I also have free rotation/balancing and road hazard. I would agree that the ABS excuse sounds like BS.
