Beware before buying RCI LCA skids

I've been running those for over a year, and had zero issues since installing. No point in jumping the gun, and blaming RCI for something you gave very little information on. With the amount of these that have been sold over the last 18 you're the first person I've seen or heard of that has had an issue with them.
Did you check fitment before installing them? To me it looks like you either received the wrong skids, or installed them incorrectly. It's hard to tell if they're positioned correctly from your pictures.

I definitely did not install them wrongly. Not many maybe check their stuff that carefully as I. Clearly it's an issue. Not to mention they gave me completely wrong hardware. So yes I am jumping on it.
And I'm not ricing my truck out [MENTION=50342]JayRolla[/MENTION] lol. Just adding protection as I start doing more serious trails.

Aren't you contradicting yourself here? You're saying not many check their stuff as carefully as you, but you clearly didn't check you stuff as carefully as you should have in this situation. Given the amount of these that are currently on 3rd Gen's with no issues. It makes no sense that you're the only one having issues.
This has nothing to do with you or your ability to install something. You did say they sent you the incorrect hardware in the first place. Did you not think that maybe they sent you the wrong skid too? An lca skid from a 4th or 5th Gen will cause contact in the area you're seeing since those skids do have a different taper than 3rd Gen's. With the 100+ order they're pushing out for our GB accidents might happen.
Just a thought. Like I said this is nothing against you, but something is fishy.
Except this isn't a new product, and has been out for nearly 2 years. I've been running them issue free for over 12 months, and don't have that contact. If were an issue with a 3rd Gen skid more than just 1 person in almost 2 years would have come up by now. I'm still betting he received the incorrect skids along with the incorrect bolts.

No I'm not contradicting my self. Because if you fallow my build thread you'll see that I mentioned this clearance issue before moving out of the driveway. Again, I'm not stupid. I installed these correctly. So something on their end is fishy.
Just simply saying. Beware if you buy these. Wether or not people complain about it. I don't feel them touching. But it touches clearly !

I want you to actually read this post before replaying. I'm saying this because this will be the third time I'm going to mention what I'm about to say.
Did it not cross your mind that maybe you received the wrong skid too? After all you did receive an incorrect hardware pack. The alignment of your skid in the first picture is way off, and is NOT how a 3rd Gen skid fits. I also mentioned that it looks like you did not receive the correct skid based on the pictures. I addition I said that it was nothing against you, or your ability to install something.
Huh, just like I said in post #4 about getting an incorrect skid. Except a 4th Gen skid is NOTHING like a 3rd Gen skid. In fact a 4th Gen skid is the same as a 5th Gen skid. Neither or which will fit a 3rd Gen. At least they won't fit correctly as you can tell.
So glad it took me 3 posts...make that 4 posts telling you that the skids looked off! Moral of the story should be to check your product before installing them! Don't bash a company without having your facts straight, and read what people are telling you. It's still an error on RCI's part, but nothing to knock their product over.

I would also agree with you. That was completely useless comment that had nothing to do with this thread. Most people elect not to say anything if they can't help answer the question at hand.
Well, I apologize if I offended anyone. I'm sure RCI is a great company. I emailed them few photos. I'll see what they say. Truly isn't a big deal. Could take a grinder and trim it. I'll live. And I can't wait to take my truck back to the woods soon. Especially after upgrading to OME 861

How are they holding up the weight? Did you relocate the rear shock resi's to avoid contact?

RCI will take care of the issue. I've been working with them for the last 18 months or so, and they'll make it right.
I wouldn't take a grinder to them though. Chances are they'll send you a new set for the 3rd Gen that'll fit correctly.
Currently I have spidertrax spacers on. I'm afraid if I relocate the resi behind the frame. That the coil could pinch the line. So as of now , they don't rub. I ended up moving one of the resi further back on the mounting plate. Which looks like it will actually clear the tire.
The 861 are so much better for me then the super flex. I'll post a pic soon. Going to bring the truck to get windows tinted. So after I'll post.
