BF Goodrich All Terrain

I currently have a 97 Tahoe 2 door sport. A guy at a tire store said the BF Goodrich all terrains were too heavy for the Tahoe. I am picking up my 4Runner Sport on Tuesday and was wandering are these tires too heavy for this 4runner? I have seen plenty of pictures of the 03 4runners with the BF Goodrich on them. Is it ok to put the BF G A/T's on??

They will work fine unless you are going to a much larger size. I have had them on my 4runner 4 years with no problems, They are heavier than stock but will not be a problem.

You need to get a tire that will work best with YOUR needs. What kind of driving do you do (give percentages)? Also , do you need appearance. If so, what do you what to see? Just about every light truck tire made has been used by members here.

That guy is on crack! I had a 99 Tahoe with oversized BFG AT's on it with no lift etc. It was fine.

Maybe he is trying to say they are too "Aggressive" of a tire for most people.

:iagree: I have several friends who have or have had that truck on bfg ATs, MTs & goodyear mt/rs with no trouble.

I have the bfg ats on my 4runner and they are great.

Totally fine to run these. Mine are 33's and no problems at all. I did notice a drop in MPG's and a little performance drop. They are heavier than most tires out there.

I run 35x12.5x17 BFG's KM2's on my 04 with stock gears. Hurts mpg and low end performance somewhat but to the issue of weight - the truck has no probklem dealing with that.
