BFG A/Ts...will they fit?

OK, I searched multiple times but I never found a definite answer to this question...since we all know that BFG doesn't make the A/T KO in stock size but they make it in the 265/70/17. Will they fit w/o rubbing because I don't want to trim anything on the fender. I think I might have seen something about they are too square of a tire to not rub.

From what I've read the KO will rub the UCA (upper control arm).
 
joy...well will any size of 265/70/17's fit stock? The two main tires I was looking at were the BFGs and Michelin LTX M/S and neither come in stock but the next size is that.
 
I have bfg 265/70/17's ona stock 2006 sr5 4x4 and they only rub at full lock, and even that's minimal. I've even taken it off road...no rubbing. I would just pull the trigger and get the best tires ever made...BFG all the way. Plus they really toughen up the look of your truck!!:biggrin2:
 
Mine DID NOT rub at all. In fact, i get good cornering. I replaced them with Goodyear Silent Armor's with the same size (see my sig). I replaced my BFG AT KO's because they were loud on the road. They both pretty much cover the gap from the top of the tire to the wheel well. Only thing i haven't experienced them was off-roading. But i have a Limted 4WD V8, I dunno if there's a big diff from the SR5's.
 
Some find that it rubs slightly due to the square design. On the other hand, some have no issues. You could always look at other popular AT tires if you would rather not worry about it, such as Nitto's. Or possibly think about getting a mild lift (which I recommend whether you are upgrading tires or not).

The BFG's are avail in stock size, 265/65/17. See the link I posted above and a member here has them.

The Michelin's or any other 265/70 should be fine. Many use the Nitto's, Revo's and others with no rubbing. It's only the BFG in the 265/70 that does a little rubbing.

It looks like the stock size is E rated , unless I missed something.

It looks that way to me too. If I was set on BFG's I'd take the minor UCA rubbing any day... I would think a short sidewall E tires would be brutal! Like I said though, somebody here has them and I don't remember him complaining about the ride.:confused:

I would think it would be damn harsh.
