Are the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2’s that good?

BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A tires have worked great for me, now running my 5th set on my third vehicle since 1996. However, my current set are my 1st KO2 series of All Terrain T/As.

Are they noisy on the pavement?

In my experience, not really noticeable. But, in their last quarter of their life, they do get noisier. But the increase is gradual and you likely won’t notice it until you swap them out. The sudden quiet will make you realize how noisy they were.

Will they decrease gas mileage and use up more energy?

No. My 4Runner hasn’t changed from my checks of MPG between odometer resettings.

I have a 2013 Toyota 4Runner and need new tires. I have winter rims and tires and just want a tire good for towing 5,000 lbs and able to pull the trailer up out of sand, mud and gravel while being able to explore off road a bit.

All Terrain T/As, in my experience, are great in the snow. In sand, they’ll do fine if you lower your tire pressure. They are awful in the mud, as the tread packs and turns to slicks (that is what mud terrain tires are made for). Depending on gravel size and depth, they will plow into it. For exploring, it depends on how brave you want to be when exploring. They are a rugged off road tire and can take a lot of punishment, even aired down. For casual off roading, they might be overkill.
