BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A Tour

Need tires for my 96 SR5 so does anyone use these? I have had Bridgestone -Dueler A/T 695 with Uni-T for years but not sure if i want to stay with them. I'm a BJs and Costco Member but since Costco has changed their warrenty on tires to 5 years which doesn't make sense on a tire with a 60g warrenty by the tire company and they gave me load of crap about my tires being over 5 years old and should be replaced pretty much bugged me. I bought the tires from them and they still had pleanty of tread but now firestone guy where i got the oil changed said they are starting to wear uneven and fray around the rim, looks ok to me. Don't do any off roading but do have a house in PA, NY and FL and sinse gas is going to be over $4.00 gallon guess tghe car will site around more AGAIN like last big $4.00 gallon gas price :gun5:.

Also coming up to timing belt change time and this will be the second one so should the water pump be change? Cost should be around $700 to $800 at Firestone. Figure i'll get the plugs changed since last one was around 60g miles so platum tip plugs best? :girl:

They're the stock tire on a lot of newer trucks and SUVs but I've rarely read anything great about them and they seem like a so-so tire for the money. I'd do some research and see what fits your driving needs best.
My mom has Yokohama AT/S on her '99 Limited and has no complaints and her 4Runner is used for street only.

She does not drive off road, but they have been fine in the Michigan snow ...

that is why i write them that way, makes people like you happy :happens:.

My old Duelers were for off road just looking at the tread tells you that :roadkill:. Bad part about them you feel every stone on the road but looking at costcos tire store i see they changed their tire tread. Some sites people wrote they were fine and some find them to get nosie over time. One tire site tested them against 2 other tire brands and found the T/A Tours to be very good, excellent steering responce. T/A Tour sell for BJs $100 - $110 while Duelers sold Costco from $111 - $115 pluse $15 tire for all the extra stuff. :tongue:

Beside tires one cool addation i got for my 4Runner was New York Rangers heavy rubber mats. Set for (front $30/back $20) also cargo area $30. :jaw drop:

Don't confuse the BFG Long Trail with the Long Trail Tour -- very different tires.

The Long Trail is a common stock tire, and isn't particularly good (poor grip, fast wear). It's this one:

My wife's Tacoma currently has the Long Trail Tour tires, and they've held up quite well. That Tacoma came stock with the Long Trail tires, and they wore out faster than any other tire we've used on that truck (there have been 4 total sets -- she drives a lot).

I been looking at my duelers and the tread depth is fine when using a penny but noticed around the bottom of the treads is a lot of cracking :redbrick:. The cracking :redbrick: is pretty much around all the treads so what does that mean ? I think these tires have to be at lest 6 years old. The spair tire came with the car.

I put BFG Radial Long Trail T/A's on my 03' Sport Edition when my Dunflops were ready for replacment. That was at 55k miles, i got 83k on it now and there's TONS of rubber left on em.

I got a 08 new-to-me and the dealership put on a new set of Dunflops, which i wasnt cool with, and to add insult to injury, they DIDNT have the white raised lettering! So i had em pulled off and got another set of the BFG Radial Long Trail T/A's. I love em. This winter was rough and those things grabbed the road great in 30" of snow.

So me, personally, i love em.
