Holy Smokes the owner of that white runner dropped some serious cash on that suspension. Fox reservoirs? Crazy! Great pics guys.

Definitely want to be careful on the u-turn at the peak!

Found a small side trail. Fun spot with a few technical sections and lots of tight spots.

Great trail through here. Most of this area survived the fires.

The trail ends, the day was fun and it was great meeting everyone. Time to air up and head back to reality. Side note...I taught my daughter how to air up my tires. Now, if I could get her to wash my truck...:jester:

This seems like a pretty good place to ask a few questions of mine.

I want to go out and do stuff like you guys did on this trip, I have a 92 v6 with a 5 speed. I haven't done any thing to the suspension yet due to money and that I've never gotten a definate answer on what would be best. I don't want to do any sort of major lift or anything because its my daily driver and I just don't like the huge lifts.

Would you guys think that a stock suspension would be capable of anything like this or no?

Second question is what are some recomended accesories that have come in handy?

I have a Yakima Load Warrior Basket and hi-lift mounts.
Hi-Lift is next on the list. I noticed to that I should pick up an air compressor to fill up my tires.

Anything else thats helpful?

Thanks a bunch!

I would say tow straps/recovery gear and air compressor are very good to have. You will do fine with a stock rig though. I wheeled mine a decent amount before I did anything to it.

Your first read upgrade should always be your tires. You will be amazed with what a stock rig with good set of AT tires can do!

When I bought it it had new tires on it. I've only owned it for a littel over a year, but the tires seem to me to of done fantastic in the snow we got this year here in washington and they do pretty good water too, but I've never really driven anything else to compare it too so who knows.

Would you say the Hi-Lift Recovery kit that they sell is a decent set up?

That coupled with some straps maybe? I'm trying to figure out what length and capacity straps I should go with.

I'm new at all this so I want to be prepared before I really go out

I have none of those things, but they wouldn't hurt. I just make sure to carry a few 20' recovery straps and D -Rings. For the strap make sure you buy one without metal hooks, those things can become a weapon if the hook breaks/pulls loose or something goes wrong. But these are worthless without another vehicle with you, which brings me to my next point....

You should NEVER wheel alone, especially if you are unfamiliar and uncomfortable with the terrain. Even more so if it is remote.

Trying posting here on the forum to find some guys to go with for your first time. It really helps if people know what they are doing and can give you pointers.

Big Bear is awesome. I love how its all green with huge pines on one side, and then on the east side its all desolate and rocky.

These pictures make me want to sell everything I own and buy a 4th Gen:awais:
