Big shout out to Bandit Runner...bumper design!

For anyone considering a rear bumper, I can highly recommend 'Bandit Runner' bumper design. I purchased his rear bumper plan with dual swing outs, and consider it money very well spent. The time and effort he poured into his design, saved me countless hours and headaches. Also, he is very easy to work with, and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. My biggest concern with the swing outs, was that they were quiet and secure. The bumper has been installed for a little over a month and I can testify that they are both, quiet and secure. No rattles, squeakes or vibrations.

This was my first fab project, and the step by step instructions with drawings, made the process go very smooth. Even for a novice. Thanks, [MENTION=55891]Bandit Runner[/MENTION]

Thanks. 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 3/16" wall tubing. Bumper is all 3/16", except for frame mount brackets and main bumper frame are 1/4" thick.

I did all the welding myself, and there is a lot of room for improvement, but overall I am very happy with the outcome. Fortunately for me, I have a generous bro-in-law with a very well equipped shop. He let me use his shop and all its tools for this build.

Great work on the fabrication! That's a pretty complicated build, and I can imagine the time you must have into it.

I'm also impressed with the fact that Bandit can put together a set of plans and instructions that a guy halfway across the country can interpret well enough to build something that intricate from scratch. I'm sure that a great set of instructions is a game changer on a project like that.

Thanks so much. There are some flaws in my welds if you look close, but I have a great sense of accomplishment. Yes, I had it powdercoated.

Thanks BFAD. Means a lot coming from you. 'I found the one' has been a great inspriration to me, and one of my fav's on here.
IIR, BR said the 3/16" added about 15lbs total, versus using 1/8'. I don't really have a way to weigh it (@Bandit Runner may chime in), but guess the whole thing weighs 115 -120lbs. The fact that it doesn't vibrate and is quiet, is worth the extra weight to me.

Do it! I borrowed my bro-in law's Miller 210 mig welder. Very rewarding.

Yes I'm lucky. He has a shop full of nice tools. Yes all steel. I don't know the first thing about welding aluminum.

Thanks man. I had a local steel supply co. cut all the flat stock on their plasma table. Very accurate, well worth the little extra cost. That is also another advantage to buying plans from BR, he provides a DXF file for every 'flat' part. So all I had to do is send the files to steel co. and they send that dirrectly to CNC plasma table. No mis-cut or incorrectly sized parts...all were perfect.
