Bigger tires on my 17's or Texas Edition 20's?

Hi... i'm new her and just picked up a 2005 Sport edition AWD V8 4Runner. We bought the 4runner because my FX45 can't get to the location that we Jet ski at on the weekend. I'm usually the one that Tows the skis but my car is in the shop getting baggs and 24's w/ 25 seres tires =/

My parents were in need of an SUV so we figured the 4runner would be the perfect choice. I want to do a few things to the 4runner as long as it stays functional and do what we need it for.

Towing jet skis down a 1 mile rocky trail, tow car/bikes around, and random road trips.

I was planning on doing a 2/1 lift pretty soon but i wasn't sure what wheels/tires to go with.

I tried on the 20's this morning but the tires seem to be a little big.
The guy wanted to trade my 17's /w tires, my 20" FX45 wheels w/ 265/50/20 goodyear tires, + $1,100 in trade for his Texas edition toyota 20" wheels w/ 275/55/20

If i get the wheels i wouldn't have enough money to get better fitting tires and my FX45 tires are smaller then i'd like to have. I'm not sure if it looks funny or if i should just stay with stock wheels and get bigger tires.

You got great taste. Love the TT and the bikes. I like your choice in rims for the 4Runner too, looks similar to the stock wheels but with an extra spoke. Awesome set of rides you got!

after searching around on this forum i fell in love with the big tires w/ a lift.
I thought about it and i realized that i'm in need of a car that i can take almost anywhere i want and not have to worry about scraping the bumper. I can't even pull my audi on to my driveway unless the bottom is empty because of the hard angle that i have to take just to get up.
The FX will be bagged with 25 series tires so just taking that car to work would be risky, i just want to make it a show vehicle.

Lifted $runner would be fun and more functional.
I just took my first step. The tires are on so all i need now is the lift and wheel spacers. I think i'm going to get the 3/2 lift.

I like the audio set up in the FX....that sh*t must slam. That is what I wanted to do with my 4R but the wifey said no....damn those wifeys!!

I prefer the chrome/silver rims on the audi versus the black, but do what you do.

As for the 4R, tires look nice and manly. I would suggest the 3/2 lift to go along with those rubbers. If you are going to be towing on rocky roads, you dont want to make this one too pretty...that is what your other whips are for.
