Bigger wheels on an otherwise stock runner

My 03 sport is bone stock. Not one part has been replaced. Just wondering what size tire I can comfortably go to without issues. It is, and will continue to be a daily driver, and see some light off-road use. 33" too much?? I don't want to kill gas mileage or make it a dog as there are no plans to do a gear swap anytime soon, if ever.

Any and all opinions are welcome.

if you are not doing any lifts or anything like that then 33" will be a STRETCH. And you got a 4R, they are not fuel efficient.. They are not bad, not great either, but they are not a mini or pruis

I may do a 2-3" lift in the future. The reason I am looking is in my area things are ugly from an economic standpoint and there are loads of guys getting rid of stuff on the cheap.

I know mileage isn't great to start with, but I don't want to destroy it.

I'm running 32" tires on my 4runner with a 3" lift. If you want to run 33s expect to have to lift it and do some trimming of the fender liner and possibly the front bumper. Mine were rubbing on the bumper, I just finished trimming about an inch off of both sides just to stop the rubbing.

you can fit a 32" tire if you get 255s

Thanks guys. I guess the lift will come sooner rather than later. I'm sure after 13 years and 110k miles my xreas are nearing end of life anyway...
