Biggest tires after Ult. Lift?

Wondering how big I should go after I install 3" Toytec Ult. Lift on my 97 sr5? I got some "new" five stars (r16) and I am planning on some new duratracs. Thanks for the help.

Will those fit or rub?

Thought 265/75/16 was biggest? I'm curious b/c I have the same rims and the color matched fender flares & running boards.
 
If you get the 1" body lift on there too you should be good to go with 285's. Unless the width becomes a problem and you rub the frame at full lock. I can't say with any certainty that it will, or won't, happen though. I've never ran a tire that big, and haven't look into it.

Price

Big price difference and also wondering with such wide tires how the handling would be in snow next winter. Anybody running 285/75 Duratracs in the snow? Thanks for all the input on such an expensive decision:shrug:

Honestly I have no idea. I'd say as you're reading through the forum, look for guys with the same front setup as you (and prospective tire size) and see if they have any issues.

Hopefully someone can chime in with with some better info than I can(n't) give.

They are amazing in the snow, no question about it. I got mine in the fall and did a lot of testing:D this winter. And yeah, they are expensive. This was the first time I had to buy truck tires. It used to cost me ~300 for 4 of the best tires I could get for my Subaru... A little over 1k for the duratracs was a bit of a hit

No, you just need to get wheel spacers ( a lot of people get the 1.25" spidertrax spacers). You could also get a wheel with the enough backspacing to fit the tires without rubbing. That's what I did

Is that why a lot of people run the LC wheels?
 
Im running 285/70/17 on the ultimate, with spidertax. It rubbed on the upper control arm without the spacers, and I had to trim the front limited flare corners. Will be installing the 1" body lift this weekend to help also
 
I thought the .25" spacers were enough to run 285's...I ran 285s on stock rims and stock suspension for 6 months and only had a slight rub when turning...this was highway driving only

Yeah, my front right wheel rubs at full lock right on the frame, not sure really why, the Terra Grappler's aren't too too wide, I mean they are 285's, but a 1/4" spacer should fix that.

Didn't even know they made 1/4" spacers. Maybe I will go with 1/2" if I can find them... thanks for all the input again... glad I found this forum. - of course if I didn't, I wouldn't be spending all this money for mods....:biggrin2:

The best/safest way to go is the Spidertrax 1.25" spacers. These wheels are a hub/lug-centric setup and the thinnest spacer I could find was the 1.25". The others were just plates you shove over the hub and end up loosing a lot of thread on the lugs AKA more stress/bad idea.

285/75/16's are perfect, any bigger and you'll want to gear it and cut it up.
 
I think there are quite a few ppl running .25" spacers with no problems but you can't buy .50" ones because that wouldn't leave enough thread which is why AFAIK they aren't available for purchase.

Makes sense

Thanks CJ, Just ordered some 1" spacers so that is taken care of. My only worry now is whether or not I will need extended brake lines?
