biggest tires for my 99'

I have a 2" leveling/lift kit on my 99 SR5 4WD, right now I have 265/75/16, which is about 31.5" but want to get a little bigger....is that possible? Also I want to get some black wheels, should i go with something like soft 8's or steel AR 767? For slightly taller and wider wheels what do you guys recommend? Does anyone have something similar to what im looking for with pics?

The safest option is what you have now. If you move up to a 285 tire you might have to trim.

Theres a guy on here running 285/75 with no lift at all. It would just take some trimming.
Duhockey is running 285/75 with 2.5'' lift.

i assume you have 3.9 gears, not 3.19.

i have 4.10 gears and i have had put on 33" tires, the amount of power loose is noticeable and i ended up dumping them and went back to 32" (265/75/16). if you have auto tranny, things is gonna be worse. rules are out there regarding gear ratio and tire size, you can only go where your gears can drive.

3.9 --31" max
4.1 --33"
4.56 --35"
4.88 --37"

big tire paired with small gears can screw things up really quickly.

thats why i sold my first tacoma, it had 3.56 gears with 31's and i noticed it struggle on the highway with the 2.7L so i got the 3.4L 4runner with 4.30 gears because it was cheaper to find that runner with a locker then build one without locker and gears, to run 33's

I am running 32x11.50's with my 4runner that has the 2.7 and its fine most of the time but on occasion I have run into obstacles on the trail that my gearing and clutch will just not allow me to go over in 4wheel low and I have to put it in 4 high and carefully creep over but my clutch is smoking bad afterwards.. probably couldnt do it if I had an automatic. My buddy has a 99 sr5 w/5speed manual and is running 285/75's with 2" lift with no problem.

i had the 285/70/17's on with just a 2.5" spacer lift and the tires rubbed like crazy against the frame and the fender liner, not even at full lock

and when the rear flexed a little bit, i tore up the inside of the fender


i wouldn't recommend it, personally....but it's your truck

Idk he is on here. May pm him. If you dont want to do any more mod to it keep your tires. If you dont care to trim some then you can go to a 285/75. I have ome lift now which is 3 inches. I have arb bumper, 8k lb winch, sliders and I dont have any problem with my tires.
