Biggest tires I can get on stock wheelset?

I'm looking to get some new tires on my baby, the set that came with it are Nexen 265 70R 16. Do I need to get the same size or can I get a bigger tire on the wheel without rubbing of course..I have an '05 4R SR V6. I don't plan on lifting the 4R to fit the tire, just asking how bigger can I get on the stock wheel without any interference.

Maybe bump up with 17s wheels & 265/70/17
