Bike Racks

I'm looking into buying a hitch mounted rack but am curious what it looks like on a 4th gen? Pictures of bike racks on here are few and far between. Anyone have a picture of their hitch mount bike rack with it loaded up and ready to go?

No pics, but I use a Yakima hitch mount to haul my Cannondale Rush and have had zero issues in 3 years. It'a a King Pin and handles up to 4 bikes no problem. :bigok:

We use this one for our bikes Cannondales. Fits nicely, adjusts well to almost any bike and they don't bounce quite as much as other rackes.

Used to have a Yakima roof rack but getting those bikes up on the roof our Subaru was a b!tch, nevermind the 4Runner.

CannondaleMan - Thanks for the post. I checked out the Xport bike rack at performance bike shops here in NC.

I ended up buying it. It is a great bike rack. And there is nothing hanging from a rack. It mounts sits on the rack and there are straps and a hook to secure it.

Plus nothing is hitting your truck.

Does your rack "wobble" any? I have a 2" draw tite hitch and it shakes just a little bit?

TO be honest I have not hooked it up on the 4Runner yet. I used it on the Highlander we used to own and it did move a bit. Probably a variation in width and the receiver. Still a pretty sturdy device and I think it was pretty well designed since it moves well out of the way and holds the bikes securedly without the wheels banging back and forth when driving - plus you do not have to buy anything extra for it.

Sounds good. Thanks for the response. It worried me at first that the rack was going to fall off on the interstate, but it was just fine when i got home.........

I tend to drive my 4runner a little hard on the interstate.....

I have all Yakima...... lowrider mounts, Crossbars, Faring, and Viper bike mounts
