A few weeks ago I noticed the billet grille I have wasn't holding up well, so I took it apart and redid it and the inserts fit better and all that.

Well when I took out the inserts to freshen them up, I popped in the grille without them to get a look for it.

So I ask you, what do you think looks better?

It looks nice both ways...it just depends on what message you want to send and how you feel about your rig...with the billet it looks more elegant without it it looks more tough...you decide!...

i know what your saying, ive been having the same dilemma. i liked it at first, but the way they attach is cheap and not very stable.

it looked good while it lasted. im about to do a variation on a satoshi mod in a bit. i already promised this grill to a buddy of mine, i just need a good 96-98 grill, since his is busted

yeah not a fan of the billet, just not classy since all of the mexi ricer rides rock them and the big f-150 crowd, neither is known for class, lol

but like was said earlier, do what you like man, it's your ride and if your trying to go more for a street rod look then yeah it maybe ok, but you'd have to change other stuff on the ride to bring the look together.

wow! didn't expect so many replies!

Thanks everyone!

Seems like majority prefer the 02 grille over anything. The one I have is all sorts of cut up so I think what I'll do is sell it as a whole on my local craigslist.

I spent 80 on the grille and 80 on the inserts so it's a little hard letting go.

Think $120 on craigslist would sell? I think I could sell it for that much considering the "ricey" croud and the F150 "dub" croud.

I still have to buy the grille. Used is out of the question because I don't want rock chips (or do you think I should buy color keyed?). I could do one of three things:

Buy from eBay eBay Motors: 01 02 2001 2002 TOYOTA 4RUNNER SR5 LTD CHROME GRILLE

Or drive 90 miles south to Certifit where I can get the grille for $57.75. Atleast with this option I can get it now and instead of shipping, I can just get it. I know that their grilles are made well, the one I used for the billet is from the same company who makes them for Certifit.

I can go to my buddy's junkyard about 40 miles away and buy a used green one, which might help me because I wanted to do the black SR5 flares and get new bumpers in green (basically I'll have a wannabe highlander)

you and Djohns90 should start a club... he wants a highlander but doesnt realize his 4runner is RED!!
:wtf:

:0)

You Forgot i dont like the fat lip bumper and i dont like the sport hood. I just want your damn flares.

haha well there's a reason the coolest 4Runner ever was made in only black and green!

but if I do the whole color keyed, I will have pretty much an identical highlander... except the grille and mirrors would be newer

Alright, so I'm officially through with the dumb thing.

I am contemplating painting the billet parts black and leaving them on... it would be cheaper than to replace it. It would be kinda cool too, it'd still be unique I guess.

Opinions?

Painted the billet black.
